God Moving In

DAY 31
10-20-09
EXODUS 40

Good Morning!

The last chapter of Exodus is an exciting and beautiful scene. All of the items of the tabernacle – God’s Tent – are finished. They are beautiful, but they are ordinary. Nothing ordinary is adequate when associated with the LORD! Every one and every item is made holy by anointing, washing, and sacrifice. God will not move in until everything consecrated and made holy. When everything is consecrated, God’s presence moves in.

The parallels are significant. God’s presence will not move into our lives until we are made holy. We are the temple of God. We are made holy when we are consecrated; washed; anointed; and sacrificed for. We are then not ordinary anymore. Then, God Spirit moves into our lives. All of this is done for us – to us – by Jesus Christ.

What a blessing!

You were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God…Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? (1 Cor. 6:11 & 19)
