Good Morning!
The gifts of worship and atonement that are expected by God are to be the best we have - “without defect.” Can you imagine what a challenge that must have been to Israel while they were wondering around in arid places? Offering appropriate gifts to God is neither cheap nor convenient. That is what makes them special and acceptable.
I‘ve already discussed the need to joyfully give our treasure and talents (10-18-09). Today’s chapters remind me to give to give God the first and the best of what I have. How can I give God the leftovers and the defective? That is not how he gives to me.
Give God the best of what you have.
