You Must be Different to be Blessed

DAY 39
10-28-09
LEVITICUS 19-20-21

Good Morning!

When I was young, I wanted to be different like everybody else. I wanted to do my own thing by having the same clothes. I wanted to be unique by having the same hair cut. I was embarrassed to be good and have clean language. I thank God that those days are behind me. “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.” (1 Cor. 13:11)

Have I really put those childish ways behind me? God requires me to be different because he has made me holy. God demands that I renounce the detestable ways of the world. I can never be like the evil world…ever! I have to stand out by being different from world and just like God.

My prayer for myself is that I will be set apart, different, and holy in all things: language; money matters; morals and ethics; purity; worship; service; and pleasure.

Think about your life. What does God think about your life? Would he consider you “set apart”? If not, it’s time. Set yourself apart.

You must not live according to the customs of the nations I am going to drive out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them. But I said to you, "You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey." I am the Lord your God, who has set you apart from the nations. Lev. 20:23-24
