DAY 44
11-2-09
NUMBERS 3-4
Good Morning!
A very interesting section this morning. As God gives his precise instructions to Moses and Aaron regarding the priesthood and their specific duties, much care is taken in explaining how to keep the Koathites from dying before the Lord. The objects they were assigned to carry from place to place needed to be covered so they would not see what was kept behind the curtain. “But the Kohathites must not go in to look at the holy things, even for a moment, or they will die." (Num 4:20)
Just like when Moses was not allowed to see God’s real face and live; and as Moses covered his glowing face after being in the presence of God; the Koathites were not allowed to see the holy objects associated with the Holy God.
I am reminded just how blessed we are as Christians to have the veil torn in two (Mark 15:37-38) so that we can “view” God with the Spirit; through faith; and by the gospel - with the veil removed.
But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (2 Cor. 3:16-18)
One day, when there are no more days, we will see the LORD face to face without fear of death. That will be the day of days!

When he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:2)
