Noticing People’s Needs

DAY 66
11-24-09
DEUTERONOMY 21-23

Good Morning!

The combination of teachings in Deuteronomy is amazing! Bad marriages mixed in with donkeys and baby birds!? Anyway, there is a short line that teaches an important lesson that could easily get lost in the other heavy stuff. When you see an obvious need, take care of it.

Deut 22:4 If you see your brother's donkey or his ox fallen on the road, do not ignore it. Help him get it to its feet.

How easy is it to see a need and just walk on by? Sometimes we don’t notice at all. We get so caught up in our lives that we often miss the friend who hasn’t been to church for a long time. We forget to check on the widow or shut in. We don’t notice a sad face. We give little or no thought to people on our prayer list.

If you see a need, help with it. Look out needs. Go out of your way help. Open your eyes. Pray for opportunities to help. We will bless others and be blessed ourselves if we do so.
