DAY 47
11-5-09
NUMBERS 8-9
Good Morning!
God’s powerful presence in the Tabernacle was a rally point for Israel. When the cloud of God rested over the tent, Israel camped. As long as God was there, they stayed in camp. When the cloud lifted, they packed up and started walking with God until he stopped.
“Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out.” (Num 9:22)
This brings up a very good lesson. We are supposed to move with God and follow God. If we are concerned with God’s will; God’s prompting; and God’s direction; we will live our life trying our best to follow him. The Israelites did not live and move at their own direction. Paul wrote that in God, “we live and move.” (Acts 17:28)
Putting this into practice is a challenge. I know that from practical experience. However, if I live my following God, instead of living my life expecting God to follow me around, then God will lead me to where I need to be.
Israel will make it to the Promised Land. But they’ll get there in God’s time and going God’s way.

All the nations may walk in the name of their gods; we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever. (Micah 4:5)
