Whiners

Good Morning!

I can understand the previous bouts with the whiners – they had just left Egypt and they were scared. I would have whined too. But after all God had done for Israel, you would think that they would be so amazed to have the One True God among them that they would just be thankful and faithful. Moses complained to God that if the people had all the meat and fish in world, they would still complain about it.

Now, I am not above whining about things. I can be pretty pathetic at times. We all can. Anyone who says they don’t whine is not telling the truth…or they are blind. There is however a spiritual malady I have observed – and it is the spirit of complaining. Some just see the negative and focus on it; constantly talk about it; and even complain online for all to read.

So before you complain about your church; your friends; your family; your country; your job; or your circumstances…stop! Try giving your church; your friends; your family; your country; your job; and your current circumstances the benefit of the doubt. Stop whining and start praying and thanking God for how good life is with him.

Everything about us is imperfect and needs improvement. That is the way of it. If we focus on our good God and his wonderful blessings, we will be so much more joyful in this life and be better at fixing our problems.

God, please forgive me when I whine. Help me to remember that Life is Good.
