DAY 224
5-13-10
JEREMIAH 37-40
Good Morning!
Have you ever been asked by a worldly, sinful person to pray for them? They don’t really know God. They are not interested in submitting to God – they just need something and know you are a Christian. In their minds, perhaps, you are the nearest thing to God they know.
King Zedekiah, “nor his attendants nor the people of the land paid any attention to the words the Lord had spoken through Jeremiah the prophet. King Zedekiah, however, sent…the prophet with this message: ‘Please pray to the Lord our God for us.’” (Jer. 37:2-3) Jeremiah and Zedekiah had a strange working relationship where Jeremiah gave him the message of the Lord and Zedekiah kept him alive.
Just think, we might be the only connection to God that an unbeliever will have. Can you think of a better way to influence people to come to God than to pray for them?
Try this…it has worked for me. Live your Christianity in the open. Let your light shine. Just watch. Someone needy will notice; and you’ll have your opportunity. The people of the world need God. They will see you long before they see God.
Matt. 5:16 “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
